Do I need to dilute the oils? What ratio?+
Essential oils are highly concentrated and should not go on skin neat. Dilute them in a carrier oil (like our jojoba or argan) first. A simple guide for body use:
| Strength | Per 30 ml carrier |
| 1% — face / sensitive / daily | about 6 drops |
| 2% — general body use | about 12 drops |
| 3% — short-term, local spot use | about 18 drops |
Carrier oils (jojoba, argan, coconut, almond) can be used directly on skin and hair. When in doubt, start lower — less is more.
How do I do a patch test?+
Before using a new oil, dab a small amount of the diluted blend on the inside of your forearm, cover it, and wait 24 hours. If you see redness, itching, or irritation, don't use it. Always patch-test a new oil even if you've used others before.
How should I store the oils, and how long do they last?+
Keep them cool, dark, and tightly capped — away from direct sun and heat. Stored well, most carrier oils keep around 12 months after opening and essential oils often longer (citrus oils are shorter-lived). Each bottle carries its own best-before date; if an oil smells off or rancid, retire it.
Are these oils food-grade or safe to ingest?+
No. Our oils are made for topical and aromatic use — skin, hair, and diffusing. They are not intended to be swallowed. Please don't ingest essential oils except under the guidance of a qualified professional.
Are they safe during pregnancy, for children, or around pets?+
Use extra caution. Some essential oils aren't recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for young children, or around pets — cats in particular are sensitive to several oils. We can't give individual medical advice, so please consult your doctor, midwife, or vet before use if any of these apply to you. This is general guidance, not medical advice. When in doubt, check with a qualified professional.
Can I use them directly in a bath or diffuser?+
In a diffuser, follow the device's instructions — usually just a few drops in water. For a bath, never drop neat essential oil into the water (it floats and can irritate skin); first blend it into a carrier oil or an unscented base, then add that. Carrier oils can be added to a bath as-is.
